Baby Steps....

www.danajilldesigns.com

That is the theme of the day, and as a matter-of-fact, should be the theme of my life! I realized that I should take baby steps, and not try to tackle all issues from start to finish everyday. This is how I came to that conclusion.

1. Every time I sit down to complete something, both phones ring, the dog barks, the baby cries, I think of everything I need to do and haven't done, and I get distracted. However, one small task seems do-able, well, it seems like a good idea anyway.
2. I drink too much caffeine, and eat way too many peanut M&Ms.
3. My daughter looks at me like I am crazy when I am holding her, typing with one hand, talking into my head-set and swishing a paper towel with 409 sprayed on the bottom in an effort to clean the smooshed cheerios and spit-up off the floor.
4. I opened the freezer to find something to eat, and I noticed I somewhere along the way put our cream cheese in there, oh well, I am sure it is still fresh!
5. I am super hyper active.
6. I have a hamster in my head that never stops running, and I can tell I am going too fast when the people I am talking to move their pupils from side to side just to keep up with my thought process.
7. I left lunch today with some girlfriends, and had to take inventory: baby, check. credit card. check. phone, check. keys, check. head, um not so sure.
8. Getting into the car from lunch I opened the car door, and it really looked like a bird POOED in the front seat, I am serious. I couldn't imagine how that happened with the windows shut. Come to find out, I was eating snow caps on the way to lunch, and I must have dropped one, and sat on it. Needless to say, it wasn't bird pooh, but it looked like I poooed on the back of my pants. 9. I eat way too much chocolate.
10. I showed up for Ladies tea last week, a 1/2 late, and a week early.
11. I thought I missed another event last friday, and sent an apology email, yeah, it is next week.
12. I have a pile of thank you notes to send out stapled to the belated birthday cards.
13. I sent out a save-the-date for my daughter's first birthday, in JUNE--oh yeah, I have to send the deposit to the place hosting it...SEE, things just keep accumulating on my plate.
14. I have lists for my lists, and organizers for my organizers. I feel that if I could just do more in one day (if that is possible), I wouldn't have so many notes and things to remember, but just a long list of things that need to be done.
15.I need to shut my head off, and try to sleep.

But you see, the thing is, I have work to-do lists, to-do, to-do lists, mommy to-do lists, social to-do lists, house to-do lists, I mean the lists are endless. So, infact, maybe it is a good thing that I do a little of each instead of taking the time to finish one whole thing. See how that works? I love when things work out in the end! ~ djk
